What is it that makes Bruschetta such an Italian classic?

The "OG" of Italian antipastos...

Long story short: When olive growers brought in their produce to a local olive press, they used a slice of bread to taste their sample of freshly pressed oil. Italians being Italian, proceeded to turn that sliced bread into something so simple but full of flavor that it would become a staple in Italian cuisine. “Bruschetta” refers to a style of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with olive oil. Technically, the toppings can vary but we like to stick to what we view as the "classic bruschetta". Fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, balsamic, and olive oil.
